Members of the Society may establish Special Interest Councils (SIC), each with a topical or geographical focus. Special Interest Councils are for members to participate in Society activities in line with its mission, outside of the board of directors and committees.

Evolving TMS with Advanced Data Special Interest Council


The Council for Evolving TMS with Advanced Data Analytics (CETADA) aims to expedite collaboration among TMS practitioners in analyzing the patient treatment outcomes through data exchange and generation of valuable data insights. Our goal is to accelerate advancements in TMS treatments while adhering to the PHI data requirements.

Interventional Psychiatry Training Special Interest Council


Synchronize and coordinate with national residency programs and field leaders to develop interventional psychiatry training fellowships (post-residency) and incorporate TMS training and experience into psychiatric residency programs.

Perinatal TMS Special Interest Council
The Perinatal TMS Treatment Council will share experiences related to TMS treatment for individuals undergoing TMS treatment during any perinatal period, while also sharing the ongoing data collection and use of our TMS + Pregnancy Registry.

TMS for Adolescent Mental Health Special Interest Council
For years TMS has been used off label to address adolescent depression, anxiety, OCD ASD and more. In 2024, TMS gained FDA-clearance for adolescent depression (ages 15 and older). The mission of the TMS for Adolescent Mental Health SIC is to review the latest research relevant to the use of TMS during adolescents, remain educated on current FDA- clearances and insurance approvals, and share clinical experience regarding the use of TMS in adolescents.

TMS, Ketamine, and Psychedelics Special Interest Council
The mission of our special interest group is to cultivate a collaborative community of practitioners specializing in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) who are engaged in the study and application of novel treatments such as ketamine, esketamine, psychedelics, and MDMA. Our group aims to advance the field by fostering dialogue and sharing knowledge on research, treatment protocols, safety practices, standards and ethics, legal considerations, business strategies, operational insights, insurance and billing practices, and regulatory affairs related to these innovative therapies.

Asian Special Interest Council
In Asian regions, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is increasingly recognized as a promising intervention for neuropsychiatric conditions. However, Asian countries face unique challenges in incorporating TMS into current health services, including cultural, regulatory, and reimbursement barriers. The Asian Special Interest Council (SIC) under the Clinical TMS Society (CTMSS) aims to support and promote the use of TMS in treating various conditions among society members, whether from Asian regions or of Asian ethnicity.

Requirements:

  • Members of CTMSS may form or participate in one or more SIC.
  • A SIC member must be a current member of the Society.
  • Each SIC must maintain a minimum of three council members.
