Dr. Dunner received his MD from Washington University, St Louis and also completed his residency in psychiatry there. After 2 years at NIMH, Dr. Dunner was on the faculty of Columbia University/New York State Psychiatric Institute for about 8 years, and then became professor at the University of Washington. In 2006 Dr. Dunner retired from the UW and opened a clinical private practice specializing in treatment resistant depression and bipolar disorders. He purchased the first TMS device in the State of Washington. Dr. Dunner has published over 300 articles and chapters, mostly dealing with bipolar and major depressive mood disorders, their classification and treatment. He is the Director of the Center for Anxiety and Depression and a Professor Emeritus, Department of Psychiatry, University of Washington.
