Dr. Upshaw began his medical training at the University of Florida and Tulane University School of Medicine. After attaining his doctorate at Tulane, Upshaw continued onto the University of South Florida School of Medicine, where he completed his internship and residency in Psychiatry. While at the University of South Florida, Dr. Upshaw, under the stewardship of a forward-thinking chairman, received training to practice TMS shortly after being FDA cleared in 2008. The department’s progressive approach eventually led to the university obtaining two of the first TMS chairs in the entire state of Florida.

Ever since his first encounter with a TMS chair back in 2010, Dr. Upshaw was not only inspired by its remarkable potential but insatiably determined to provide this breakthrough therapy to as many people as possible.
